Z trim on standing seam metal roof questions – GreenBuildingAdvisor

So, I am finishing up my first standing seam (1 3/4 snap lock) roof.
The large main roof worked out great.
I have a small shed style roof that I just finished putting the panels on.
The question is the detail on the Z for the high side flashing.
The peak of the main roof used Snap Z … all pre cut … butyl tape already installed … just screwed it down … sealed the sides with caulk … “snapped” an open hem cap on it … a few rivets and it was done.
Now when it comes to the Z on the smaller roof, I see several ways of doing it and no one seems to agree on what to do.
Even the company who sold me the roofing supplied me with two manual … the each show a different way of doing it!
First, I was going to hook the high wall trim into the Z just like I did with the snap Z. One manual shows it this way.
But, the other manual and a manufacturer video show the high wall trim just sitting on top of the Z (with butyl tape on top, bottom and sides).
Even the idea of how to seal the sides against the seams … flush cut with caulk … tabs with caulk .. tabs with butyl tape …. even one with tabs bent outward rather than back!
Is there a “best way” to do install the Z trim between the panels?
I have attached the pages from the two manuals the roofing supplier gave me plus a few shots of the building.
Thanks so much!
