Window construction details – GreenBuildingAdvisor
I am a student creating an ADU located in Maine, Portland. We have a complex system which we divided into two: the sloped windows and the gliding door system. Kawneer is a commercial manufacturer that we are considering for our design. We are using HSS 6″ by 6″ for the structural opening of the windows and a customer member as the mullion between the sloped glazing and gliding door system. However, I am not sure how to properly attach these products into the ADU. Below I have attached the products we intend on using as well as some renderings, plans and sections of the design we are looking to achieve. The last image depicts the location of the HSS using a bold square node. Although this project is not going to be constructed, I would like any feedback on how to tackle this detail.
