Why do certain candle scent families—like Fresh & Clean or Fruity & Citrus—lose their strength faster than others after burning for a few hours? – GreenBuildingAdvisor

So I’ve been burning candles nonstop lately, and I keep running into this weird thing where my Fresh & Clean or Fruity & Citrus scents just tap out after a couple hours. Like, they start off amazing and then suddenly… nothing. Meanwhile my warmer, heavier scents are still punching hours later. Is it just me? Am I burning them wrong? Bad brands? Wrong room? I’m low‑key obsessed with making my place smell good, so it’s driving me nuts. Would love any tips, science, or recommendations before I waste more money on wimpy candles.
