As discussed in the thread referenced below, I made one of the recommended tertiary filters for the Whirlpool HP dryer WHD560CHW2. Since I no longer have the dryer, I no longer need the filter, so if anyone wants it, you can have it for the price of postage. Give me a way to get in touch with you and we will work it out.
Background:
In early 2022, I bought the full size Whirlpool Heat Pump Dryer. It started out great, but after 35 months of use (less than 3 years), drying times had increased dramatically. With the help of the info in this thread: https://www.greenbuildingadvisor.com/question/heat-pump-dryer-issue-full-sized-whirlpool-whd560chw0, I took the d- thing apart for the first time to clean the coils, which were VERY dirty. It made no difference. I also made the tertiary filter.
I did all sorts of troubleshooting, and tried to get a repair person, to no avail. There was literally no repair outfit that even knew what a heat pump dryer was. The thing started making an awful noise, and I finally determined the heat pump function was no longer operating at all.
In March of 2025, in order to keep the peace in my household, the Whirlpool HP dryer was removed, and replaced with the full size LG HP Dryer (which was not available in 2021/2022 when I bought the Whirlpool).
The LG is FAR better than the Whirlpool. It cost less initially, has an interior light, more intuitive controls, and most of all, has a much better design that does a MUCH better job of filtering the lint. After about 18 months, there is almost no visible lint on the coil, and it works as well as the day it was new. The filter design is better, and the secondary filter is easier to change. So far I’m happy with it…
