Hi, in an effort to improve the air quality in my spec homes. I am adding ERVs in all new builds. This isn’t required at all where I build and therfore no other builders are doing it except on high end builds. So I’m trying to go the most affordable route but still install it. I ordered the Panasonic in ceiling ERV which is under $500. But, it doesn’t get ducted anywhere inside the house and I am debating the best location to place it do that the air get distributed.
This is a two story home. If I place it on the first floor the exterior vents for fresh air and exhaust air end up pretty close together due to being in the same joist bay. But that would allow it to be placed in the living room or utility room right next ti the air handler which would circulate thoroughout the house. If placed in the ceiling of the second floor, the exterior vents can be routed away from each other. But I am not sure how well the fresh air will circulate around the house.
Thanks
