What can be done about these attic ducts? – GreenBuildingAdvisor

The ducts in the attached pictures are partially buried in R22 cellulose insulation.  The duct R-value is unknown but surely doesn’t reach R8.  I was hoping to, say, drape plastic-covered fiberglass over the ducts and call it a day, but it sounds like that would be a serious condensation risk https://www.greenbuildingadvisor.com/article/burying-ducts-in-attic-insulation>.  I understand my options would be to either replace all the ductwork or encase it in CCSF.  Both options sound like more effort/expense than would be worth it.

Do I have all this right or are there other (DIY) things I can do to substantially reduce the heating/cooling load due to the ducts?
