Archer,
What precludes the ridge vent extending out to the end of that bay? Usually the complication is the vent path being blocked by outriggers supporting the overhang, but that last bay looks completely clear.
There are a number of ways of venting into the adjacent bays, but most rely on making provisions for it before the roof is on. Holes aren’t typically very effective, however workshops don’t typically see the same roof moisture problems houses do, so they might well work. If you decide to rely on them make a lot.
Leaving it unvented means using a different insulation strategy. Unfortunately you can’t just pack the bays with permeable batts. https://www.greenbuildingadvisor.com/article/five-cathedral-ceilings-that-work
It’s hard to see from just the one photo, but the roof ridge doesn’t look load-bearing. Are there collar ties, or something else limiting the lateral forces?
I don’t know of any change to the username that occurs with prime membership – but maybe that is something new?
