Vapour Diffusion Ports – GreenBuildingAdvisor

A bit academic for me as I’m not in the climate zones where they can be used, but I’m curious:

Where the ports are used, and the permeable insulation is at the roof line, is there any need for either a vapour-retarder or air-barrier below the insulation, or does the space instead just rely entirely on the port, and having the attic conditioned?
