Thoughts on Alside Ascend Siding? – GreenBuildingAdvisor

Has anybody used Alside Ascend siding or have an informed opinion on it? I am evaluating it against James Hardie Board and batten for material cost, ease of install (DIY so this is a huge deal vs James Hardie), longevity, and fire resistance.  

I see that it is Class A fire rated, but not on the WUI list. We are building in a wildfire prone area of Colorado, but to-date do not have WUI requirements though I am considering them.

What issues might there be with this product in terms of fire resistance?  Surely it would be better than a wood siding or something class C rated like LPSmartside or most untreated wood sidings. Alside Ascend will also require less maintenance than many other products.
