Seems like the home is tight enough that you are going to need make a leak if you want to use the vent and dryer.
An ERV/HRV would give you the leak you need and recover some of the energy. I think of Oregon as a pretty mild climate so there may not be a lot of energy to recover as they need about 20° of differential before you recover much energy.
Make a hole with a flap or damper that will open under negative pressure and close when the fan turns off.
Consider getting a ventless heat pump dryer and cracking open a window before you turn on the exhaust fan.
Note be sure to monitor your indoor humidity. Any reading over 50% puts you at risk for mold and rot.
