Metal ceiling in garage – GreenBuildingAdvisor

Hello,

I am installing a metal R-Panel Ceiling in a garage and I am curious on the best vapor retarder and insulation profile for this case. The garage is located in zone 5A and it will be heated to 55-65 in the colder months. It will not be conditioned in the summer. The space has a well vented attic.

The proposed profile:

1. R-Panel.

2. 1″ furing strips

3. 0.5″ NGX foam board fastened to bottom of trusses and seam taped. (Vapor retarder/air barrier and small amount of insulation)

4. Unfaced fiberglass Batts

My main concern is condensation and moisture.
