Metal buildings are a great low cost place to keep your tractor out of the rain and snow but are a money pit when you change your mind and decide you need conditioned space. absolutely everything that made a steel or pole building cost less to erect becomes an expensive problem when you decide to condition the space.

The only affective place to put insulation on a metal building is on the exterior and cover it with new cladding. Insulation installed between the steel framing has its R value averaged with the R value of the steel that is almost zero.

The other option is to build a tight well insulated building inside the drafty uninsulated steel building.
