We’re building a home in SE Wisconsin and I want to set up part of the basement to be a spacious mechanical room for ground source heat pumps, ERV, dehumidifier, water heater, etc. I’m trying to figure out what the best material is to put on the walls. I would like to use 3/4″ plywood so we can attach things anywhere on the wall but I’m hoping there might be an option that is more moisture resistant and fire resistant. I found something from LP called LP Flameblock but it’s hard to find much information about it. What do other people do for mechanical room walls? I guess it might be similar to garage or shop walls as well? I’d love to hear ideas, thanks!
