I am renovating a 1960’s 3 season cottage in zone 5. The cottage is about 1000sq/ft and is built on a shallow crawl space. I am planing on encapsulating the crawlspace and adding continuous insulation on the main and second floor. My question is this, currently I have 2×4 empty cavity walls with t and g 3/4” wood siding as the sheathing. I plan on using the 2.5” insofast x brackets on the siding/sheathing and spraying 2” of sprayfoam continuous around the cottage including roof. I will be insulating the 2×4 stud cavities with roxul and I will meet the exterior vs interior ratios for insulation to keep the sheathing above the dew point. My question is am I ok to put 1x strapping on the x brackets followed by 1/2 inch plywood, followed by lathe and scratch coat, followed by thin stone veneer? I think this works in that the plywood holding the stone would be sitting off the insulated wall and would be able to dry to both sides. I don’t believe I would need any wrb on that wall would I? Would this assembly make sense?
