Guess what disastrous mistake was discovered here – GreenBuildingAdvisor

After smelling rotting death in our newly built home since we moved in this spring, the mystery was recently solved.

Sometimes the smell was very faint, sometimes the basement reeked. The smell was reminiscent of a dry drain, except there were no dry drains.

By chance we happened to shine a flashlight into the only area of exposed ceiling cavity, in the basement mech room, do you see what I see?

The culprit has been found and fixed. The question is whether our trades intentionally sabotaged this or was it an honest mistake? 🤣
