Exterior wall vent – Difference in bath exhaust vs dryer vent terminations? – GreenBuildingAdvisor

Helping a friend who is installing an exhaust fan in a bath that never had one.  The duct from the exhaust fan will go to the attic and about 7′ across out a gable end wall.  Most plastic vents deterioate within a few years, so I was looking for metal vent, but most of them seem to be labeled for dryers.  Is this just marketing or are dryer vents and exhaust fan vents the same?

Any suggestions for a good quality non plastic wall termination for an exhaust fan install?  Seems it should have a birdscreen and a damper, and be paintable.  I’m open to recommendations.
