Hi All,
I’m building in CT and we’re finally putting up siding. The sheathing is Zip R-9 and it’s been taped properly, and the windows and doors are in and flashed. The plans, which were vetted by a building performance engineer, call for Obdyke Slicker as a drainage matrix behind the Everlast siding.
The rep from Everlast is recommending using Tyvek paper – “That’s what I’d do on my house,” – instead of the Slicker because of the thickness of the material, and Everlast’s tendency to expand and contract. From what I can tell, regular Tyvek paper wouldn’t really help with drainage at all. Obdyke sells loads of other products, and one in particular, Hydrogap, looks like it might be a decent compromise. Any thoughts? Thanks!
