Board and batten detail at bellyband/skirtboard – GreenBuildingAdvisor

Hi all, I’m having trouble with the transition details of cedar board&batten siding on my new construction house. I’ll be using 1/2” coravent at top/bottom of wall, and 1/2” diagonal furring strips for the rainscreen.
Ive read several threads here and found some great info on fastening, spacing, layout, etc. However I can’t figure out a clean way to detail the horizontal skirtboard and bellyband so that the flashing is correct, AND there are no gaps for insects.
For example, If I install flashing to the WRB above the skirtboard, and the coravent strip installed 1/2” above the flashing to allow air flow, then the gap between board&battens will be exposed.
I feel like aesthetically the battens should butt into a horizontal surface, but I’m confused about how to make that work .
I’d appreciate any best practices or details that make this transition look good and perform well. Thanks!
