I guess my question was what to do with it. Run it up the side and cut it off in line with the top of the edge insulation? I imagine one could wrap it up over the top of the footing itself, in lieu of or in addition to a sill sealer. But that would require pouring the slab before the walls are framed, or at least running a strip vapor barrier over the footing before making the walls, and then taping that strip to the slab vapor barrier when ready to pour the slab.
Is there a common procedure for this?
The monolithic slab has the vapor barrier running all the way around the footing, which prevents ground moisture from wicking up the footing. Should the footing of the right hand image also have it wrapping around? Or are we relying entirely on the sill sealer?
I suppose the combination of sill sealer and running the vapor barrier up the slab edge insulation would result in a complete vapor separation of the interior from ground moisture. In that case the footing would be subject to ground moisture but that would just be par for the course.
