That seems very hot for NJ (I assume from your handle). In TN, we only get up to about 110 with same setup. Having just gone through this, and being unable to spray the attic due to home’s age… our solution was to install additional intake (bottom of roof, close to soffits but just above the insulation level) and exhaust vents (top 1/3 of roofline) We used O’Hagins vents – their website has an excellent vent capacity calculator. We found out that our soffit vents were completely insufficient (though from the exterior looked fine) and the exhaust vents were useless without intake. Attic temps dropped 30 degrees in the summer. Check to see if your soffits are completely open (or blocked with insulation or wood, as was in our case) and if your ridge vent was properly calculated. If not, add vents.
