I am working on a project with 2.5’ long eaves on the non-gable sides. The plan is to keep angled soffits and to use vented metal soffit panels and metal fascia to match the metal roof. Our plan has been to use custom bent metal fascia that bends up around the sub fascia board to follow the soffit for 0.5” – 1” and hide the fascia/soffit seam as the angle prevents the soffit panel from running onto the sub fascia board. (Sketch attached)
While working on getting this order put together, I am now wondering if condensation and morning dew will accumulate on the metal soffit and run down into the space between the fascia and sub fascia. Is this a valid concern? If so, any recommendations? My initial thought is to run a thin strip of rain screen on the bottom of the sub fascia 2×6 and drill a small weep hole in the metal fascia every 2 ft or so.
Appreciate any thoughts or recommendations.
