Air sealing exterior wall – GreenBuildingAdvisor

Hello, I started to air seal and insulated my attic and have a concern with one of my details.

The ceiling joists rest on exterior wall, then another double 2×4 over the ceiling joists where the roof rafters rest. The exterior board ran partially up leaving a gap open to the soffit. I pushed a 1.5in piece of XPS against that exterior board to ensure blown-in insulation would not fall in the soffit and spray foamed around it. I forgot to caulk the gap between the wall plate and the exterior board.

Q: Is it possible, or likely, air could leak through this gap and condense, trapping moisture between the XPS and exterior board causing decay?
