You have to fluff up the insulation as it arrives compacted in the bag. You run it through a long house into a vacuum canister with a shop vac at the other end. When the cellulose passes through the house, it fluffs up which makes it have it’s intended insulation value.
Use a Toro leaf blower with metal blades, plastic gutter duct, rubber weather tape and paper tape, corrugated pipe piece, and shop vacuum hoses for the set up.
Don’t forget to air seal the gaps cracks and most importantly the top plates or your insulation will be useless without it.
