Block foundation insulation/finishing – GreenBuildingAdvisor

Hello all,

Has anyone had experience with exterior above ground insulation on block foundation walls, specifically in regards to products like Genstone or Nextstone? They are in the range of r3.5-4 per inch.

I’m doing a garage renovation and have about a foot of above grade block foundation that I want to make look nicer. I’m considering exterior faux stone and haven’t seen these kind of products discussed for the insulation value. I know it’s minimal, but if I’m thinking about aesthetic solutions I’d be curious about performance as well.

I’m going to insulate the interior slab below grade as well.
