Some poly vapor barrier repairs were accidentally made with tyvek rather than poly tape. Drywall covered now. How big is failure risk from using housewrap tape instead of poly tape? Thanks.

Ian,
It’s not ideal, but once covered by drywall, in most spots the poly will be primarily functioning as a vapour-barrier, not an air-barrier, so even if the tape failed it wouldn’t matter much – as unlike air-barriers, vapour-barriers are effective as a percentage of the area they cover.
