Zip R12 on top of 1/2″ sheathing? – GreenBuildingAdvisor

Hi team
New house in Zone 6. GC wants to use Zip R12 but engineer requiring osb directly on studs for shear. Aside from obvious redundancy, any moisture or material issues with apply Zip R12 on top of the sheathing layer, effectively sandwiching the 2-1/2″ foam between two layers of osb? Got numbers for this and still cheaper to do this with hydrogap rather than foam layer with rain screen.
