How to get a comfortable floor over concrete – GreenBuildingAdvisor

We’re building a new ground floor unit in our (mostly above grade) basement. We’ve demoed the old slab and will add 3” of GPS insulation and hope to gain about 7” of vertical space m, getting to 7’7” ceilings.
We will most likely go with a new concrete slab, but want to get a floor on top for aesthetics and comfort. We’re willing to go with LVP, but are concerned that it may be just as hard to stand on as the concrete alone. Is there an underlayment that would make the surface more forgiving without sacrificing too much ceiling height?
