Hi,
I am looking to partially finish my basement which already has a french drain with a dimple mat up the wall in place which leads to a sump pump.
This is a fieldstone foundation with double wythe brick walls.
My question now is how to best insulate everything and tie this together with some insulation.
1. Do I seal the top of the dimple mat with some low expansion spray foam
2. Do I still need some sort of vapor retardant ? I don’t think spray foam is in the budget but was thinking using un-laminated eps board
The issue with that would be that the dimple mat is not super straight as comared to a concrete wall and wondering if that poses any issue
3. My understanding is that poly is a no go with this foundation in particular
I am looking at a design roughly like the one attached
