Advice on hiding uneven rowlock, contractor advised sealing – GreenBuildingAdvisor

We had a knee wall built with the original bricks from the home, but the rowlock bends up and down along the entire wall.
The brick is also completely unlevel. I was told it was on me because the foundation wasn’t level, and I didn’t add the siding before they installed the brick. I was upset about this, but I moved on because the project needed to keep moving. What I didn’t notice at the time was how unlevel the rowlock was on the house.
We have been trying to scribe the hardie panel, and we’ve all agreed that it looks as bad as leaving the gaps.
Currently, to fix the issue, it would cost ~2.5 times the original install cost.
Other ideas provided:
-
Pull the hardie panel and then reinstall it with scribed/forced flat with the brick.
-
Put a trim piece on the bottom with a 30-degree back cut and force that flat and seal the gap.
My concern with both of these is that it’ll seal off the rainscreen behind the Hardie panel, and how the assembly will breathe, plus water escape.
Are there other ways we could fix this? While I would like to redo it, realistically, I know we need to find a semi-affordable option to live with it and not hire those individuals again.
For some reason, I can’t attach the pictures.
