Grace ice and water shield on the wall corners? – GreenBuildingAdvisor

OK …. long story but with luck a simple question.
Can I (or should I) put a piece of Grace Ice and Water Shield (say 6″ each way) on the corners of the building?
Back story ….. 4500 sq ft workshop … built on reinforced thickened edge slab (edges … 24″ down + 24″ out and bottom insulated). One man build.
The building was build on slab …. there is a non permeable coating 12″ up from the ground (covering a few inches of the slab up the OSB) to give some protection from the elements. No need going into why this is wrong …. was done 12 years ago before I knew better …. didn’t make that mistake on the house.
I am at the point of putting up Tyvek. I am taping it top and bottom … sealed tight.
I am putting up furring strips (vertical on the wall then horizontal) and finally “real” wood board and batten. So I will have an 1 1/2″ drainage plane behind the board and batten siding.
I will leave off the interior vapor barrier so that the building can dry to the interior. I “might” go with a Tyvek type material on the interior so it can still breath and dry. I will use fiberglass or rockwool batts in the walls.
I was just worried there are so many penetrations (nails) on the corners … furring strings, boards, trim, …. that it would be good to have a self sealing material like Grace on the corners.
The OSB is sandwiched between the 2×6 framing and the furring furring strips so this might even be a mute point since the corners probably would not breath anyway. And I am hoping the OSB will never see water.
Just wanted to make sure I am not missing anything.
Thanks!
