PV solar worth it? – GreenBuildingAdvisor

I just became aware of an interest free loan for solar installations here, but it expires in about a week, so I have very little time to decide. A 10kW system comes to about $29k with taxes and an audit fee. Based on my location, the average annual production looks to be about 12kkWh, but it’s net metered, so based on my usage I can only save about $2400 a year. That makes the simple payback period about 12 years, assuming no dramatic electricity price changes. Do these numbers seem reasonable?
