About a month ago I asked about the idea of installing continuous insulation on the inside of a ceiling.
Construction is now well on its way and the theory is becoming reality.
The theory was to use a parallel chord truss to create a cathedral ceiling thru the entire house and infill after the roof was insulated and vapour barriered.
Feed back was positive so the process has begun.
We have air barrier over the top plate to tie the continuous exterior insulation to the continuous interior insulation. We installed R40 batts between the trusses. Installed and taped 2” of R10 Isofoil to the bottom side of the trusses to get to R50 and reduce thermal bridging at the truss and create the vapour and air barrier
The ceiling will get strapped out for electrical and drywall. Thanks for everyone’s help.
