In climate zone 2 (hot and humid) does it matter if my WRB is vapor permeable?
I’m planing a 2×6 wall with either open cell spray foam or just pink fluffy insulation, 1/2 OSB sheathing, peel and stick WRB, 2” pink foam board (two 1” layers, outer layer with taped seams), rainscreen, hardie siding.
Being in climate zone 2, does it matter if my WRB is vapor permeable? I was thinking of using Grace Ice and Water (vapor barrier). Bad idea? I figured by using exterior foam insulation, I won’t have drying potential to the exterior, and I certainly don’t want water getting inside my wall cavity. So if I were to use a vapor barrier wrb, any water would just run down the wall between WRB and foam?
