Hi,
I am building a 420 ft2 home office cabin that will also serve as a sleeping cabin when we have guests in our main house. In the main house I installed a Viessmann combi propane gas boiler to serve the radiant heat floors and DHW. In this cabin, we will only need heat, cooling and electricity. I had decided that we would use an air source heat pump mini-split to manage that. The DIY version s are ~ $1,300. But ideally we could find a way to heat via radiant, which we love. We will pour a slab so I could install hydronic piping, but I am not finding a small air to water heat pump for this small application. Moreover the air-to-water cooling systems seem complicated. So I am writing just to see if anyone would talk me out of the mini-split idea. I would surely love the radiant option if we could do it.
